How can i look stylish without having to break the dress code?

My school doesn’t allow us to wear denim and tees. All students must wear collared shirts. Jeans aren’t allowed either. How can i style myself with a polo or collared shirt without having to break the dress code??

As long as they don’t have too many restrictions on accessories, then jewelry, headbands, scarves, colored opaque tights, cute shoes, purses, and knee socks are definitely things you should take advantage of! Think Gossip Girl. Take a look at what Blair Waldorf (on the show) wears with her uniform during school. Just look up a couple pictures of her and other Gossip Girl characters for inspiration.

    Good luck! Hopefully I helped.

Are you a boy? If you can, get a peek at some of the guys in Gossip Girl. Or, see if you can thumb through a couple of celebrity magazines. For the polo shirt, not all are cut the same; if possible try on different brands until you find the one that looks best on you. Also, see if you can find some rugbee shirts; the fabric type and cut are different plus they are in stripes. The layered look with collared, dress/casual type shirt under an over sized, bulky sweater with pushed up sleeves seems to be in this fall. How you wear and/or button your collar will change the look too. Can you get away with an appropriate neck jewlery? Chains with crosses and/or medalians seek to be coming back in style. – I doubt if they would appreciate a studded dog collar. –

Are you a girl? Go look at the Britney Spears school girl stuff from a number of years ago. Must you wear an unadorned, plain front solid color type of shirt? If not, look at some of the tux, mock tux, and front ruffled western shirts; think tighter fitting men’s/boys sizes in a European cut worn open at the collar. At one time, the Michaels in this area carried mock tux shirts at a reasonable price. Are you allowed button covers, if so see if they are still available at the fabric stores. Speaking of buttons…a change from standard white will change your shirt’s look. Look for men’s, or women’s, shirts that require cuff links. If you do this IN TASTE think of a lacy undershirt that can be seen through your outter shirt. In taste means that it is the same or darned near the same color as your outter shirt and that it fully covers your bra. The idea is to see lace pattern and plenty of it not to look like you forgot to remove your sexy PJ top before venturing out. Speaking of undershirts, can you get away with a colored tank or sleevless shell that just barley peeks out from an unbuttoned neck line. Dramatic or accented sleeves, cuffs, and collars might be another avenue.
