What would you wear with fitted button down shirts?

I hate wearing them but my mom insists me looking more ladylike so i have a bunch of button down shirts that are long sleeve and I wear them with my hi top converse and jeans or my flats. What else can I do? My mom does not like the whole leave the whole shirt unbuttoned wear a tee shirt inside look. My look is rocker. Help?
