What should a 15 year old girl wear for a job interview?

By Baday, March 10, 2010 9:26 pm

I am 15 years old and I just applied for a job as a sports equipment sales promoter. They man in charge arranged for an interview

I would like to know what to wear for such an interview. Should I wear something very formal and mature, or could I dress casually?

Also please give me some tips for a job interview. :)

Thank you very much!

black pants/jeans and a white shirt. tie your hair up, and not too much m akeup. wear classy shoes, black, no peeptoes and not too much of a heel.
or go for the black skirt with stockings, white shirt – i mean a proper white shirt not a tshirt or sweater, but an actual SHIRT with buttons and cuffs.

    where do you live?
everywhere I go they say you have to be at least sixteen!
and a lot of other places say 18!

wear some black dress pants and a casual shirt.(with flats)
or jeans and a dressy shirt. (with heels)
then earrings and necklace to match.
    but go simple.
don’t freak them out with over accessorizing.

Dress conservatively and put on a good smile, and you can’t go wrong.

Dressing up is never a bad thing. If you show up in a suit it shows your serious and professional. In your case at 15, if you dont feel like a professional quite yet try a nice button up and slacks. Its perfect for all occasions if you not quite sure what to wear.

I suggest the office shirt line at Express. They’re normally 40 a piece but totally worth it in terms of quality and fit.

It’s better to dress formally if your not sure. If you know what you would be wearing on the job you could try dressing like that.

Make eye contact, respond with body language to what the interviewer is saying and think of some examples of what skills you think would be necessary on the job and times at home/school/sports that you’ve demonstrated those skills.

Also think of one or two questions to ask (not about money/hours of work) ie) which brands are most popular, or who is the typical client/customer?

    Good Luck

dress formal. an interview is an interview no matter where it is! first impressions are everything

i would dress nicely.. not school casual but not too formal either.

maybe a dressy top with nice jeans (no holes & go for a darkwash style) and dressy flats.

make sure your hair looks nice, and that you look put-together overall.

although it is for selling sports equipment, you still want to send off the vibe that you are responsible.

It depends where you are interviewing. If you would be working in an office setting meeting the public, for example part time at an attorneys office, a suit would be appropriate, for most everything else as the previous responder stated, black slacks and a white blouse would present a good image. Be sure your shoes are appropriate and not dirty or sloppy looking. You want to look like you have it all together, well organized and composed. That more than anything will serve you well. Practice presenting yourself as someone who is very organized and capable, i.e. not an “airhead”. If you practice it often enough it will become second nature. You know all the usual stuff, clean hair, yada yada. Don’t chew gum, okay. And be sure NOT TO WEAR any heavy cologne or perfume. Something lite is okay but nothing heavy.

    Good luck

ALWAYS!! Dress up for a job interview. It’s very important to look nice
(+ good tip, thank them for their time), also ask them what the normal
    apparel is for the job.

Wear something professional. No matter where you are having your interview it is better to dress formal because then they will see that you are serious. It also makes you look more professional and clean cut.

As a 15 year old, I would say wear a dark wash skinny jeans, a sweater vest and a long sleeve white shirt under and sneakers :P

You should wear what you think is comfortable because its no use wearing formal in interview and then they saw you in casual clothes the next day at work. In interview, you should be calm and memorize what the company does, its motto or vision.
