What color eyeshadow and lipstick for a red floor length dress?
I am not sure what colors would compliment my eyes and my best dress. I have dark brown hair that i plan to have up-swept, dark green eyes, and olive-y colored skin. I dont want my makeup to be “too much” with my dress. . please help Thank You!

Thurs dramatic eyes or red lips, but not both. You probably already have the colors that are best for your eyes so just use them. If you focus on the lips, they should be a close match to your dress. Brownish lips will look muddy with olive skin, you’re better off doing a pinkish gloss if you choose to do darkly dramatic eyes.

Like a shimmery bronze tone for your eyes, it will really make them pop, and a light pink shade for you lips because red would be too much.

Umm coroal a light lipstick? Just not too red since your dress is. ummm if your red dress is red as in strawberry red then lay low on lipstick, if its more darkish velvet you can play it up a little bit. Eyes would look good a dark (er) shade but not black, try a dusty gray or somthing without too much glitter.

you should definitely wear red lipstick, that’s what all the stars who wore dresses did read on Oscar night, and keep the rest of you’re make up nuetral. just put on a light blush and black mascara w / the red lipstick. you’ll look stunning!

A tint rather than solid color or glossy lips. light beige to warm brownish bronze shade with a touch of clear gloss in the center of lips. . avoid lip liner. . i would do a classy smokey eye and nude glossy lips. reds are hard to match, and require a bit of maintenance. smokey eyes look great on everyone. the trick is finding just the right shades and practicing! here is my smokey eye. . . step by step and simple as can be. . . (Feel free to substitute lighter shades for the ones i mention) start with a clean canvas. . . concealer foundation, and / or powder in place. apply a thin layer of shadow base or eye primer to the entire lid (urban decay primer potion, mary kay eye primer, merle norman automatic shadow base, or mac eye primer) black or dark gray shadow in the shape of a sideways V on the corner of the eye, working into the crease (i use merle norman shadow in ebony and a palladio flat shadow brush) lighter gray shimmer shadow over the lid, blending into the first darker shade (i use mac shadow in idol eyes and a mark contour brush) silvery / champagne shimmer shadow under the brow bone and dotted on inner corners of eyes with full shadow brush (i use merle norman luminous shadow in sun beam and in essence of beauty shader brush) black liner all the way across top lid, slightly thicker on outer edges, and 3/4 way across bottom (avon glimmer sticks liner in blackest black) sweep thin line of medium shimmer gray under lower lash line, below and slightly over black linercurl lashes and add 2 coats of volumizing black mascara (maybelline volum ‘express turbo boost 7XS mascara in black)-so you can do a smokey eye with shades of brown, purple, green. . . any color. here are the shades i recommend from a few different brands for the basic black / gray. . . . -From mac: black tied, charred OR idol, eyes, and shroom-from lancome: the new black, style section OR volcano, and off the rack from merle norman: ebony, zinc OR stay steel, sun beam-from avon: night sky, steel OR slate, iced silverstila (at sephora) has a smokey eye kit that has 4 shadows in a palette. . . push a tiny button and a voice speaks instructions to you. So there is a holographic image of an eye that shows where the different shades go when you turn it. $ 40also available at sephora are hard candy and smashbox. hard candy makes a shadow quad called “techno” that sells for $ 28, and smashbox makes a shadow trio called “twilight” that sells for $ 30 both are good for gray smokey eyes. for drugstore palettes, try revlon, loreal, covergirl and maybelline. i know all of those lines carry them, but not sure of the names. always keep lips light. . . glossy nudes are great with sexy smokey eyes.
