Why will not the hair dye fade after nine MONTHS?
In September 2007, my mom did a crap job highlighting my hair, turning it orange. Now, you see, my hair is naturally a dark, dark brown. So when the roots began to show. . . Well, it did not look good. In November 2007, my dad got some L’Oreal hair dye BROWN, so my hair could return to normal. I was all excited. . my hair was going to be brown again. . . except, the color of the dye was Auburn. Reddish-Brown. Ten shades too light. It looked fine, but once again, my roots started to work their magic. Here I am, July 2008, and the dye has still not completely faded! My hair is half-closed practically black, and auburn, and it looks pretty bad. I’m going into high school in the fall. I am not entering high school looking like this! I tried to dye it back (on June 26) with L’Oreal Superior Preference (Dark Ash Brown), and it faded within two weeks, and I used the conditioner correctly. What I’m asking is, why has not this dye faded? And what’s a good dye that WILL NOT FADE? Thanks!

lol that really sucks. You should probably go to a hairdresser and get them to use a hair color stripper on your hair. I dont really know any good hair dyes, but i thin you better stop using anythig by L’Oreal.

When your mom lightened your hair she actually stripped pigment out of your hair, as that’s what bleach lightening products & Thurs Once lightened it can not fade as your natural pigment can not fade back into your hair shaft. The hair is lightened Which has been so very porous, meaning that is is very dry, sucks up a lot of water, but takes ages to dry. It then sucks up the color, but can not hold the color particles. What you should do is apply a semi-permanent color (green you have stripped out the red / orange pigment in the hair so when you put ash in, you can actually look a bit) in a warning brown. Then reapply again about 1 week later. That should give you a fair hold. Then you can reapply agian in about week 6th Alternately you can put in some blonde extensions. You can see the colur before they go in and remove them when you get over them, all with no damage to your own hair. This means you can pop some blond ones in to help hide your regrowth a bit.
