How to dye the tips of your hair at home?
well i have brown hair and i want to dye the tips red for the summer….i just dont know what kind of hair dye to use or how to dye the tips at home??

Well If Your Hair Is Brown Then Don’t Use Semi Permanent Cause It May Not Comee Out I Would Use A Spray Or A Wash In Wash Out Dyee Aftaa All If You Dont Like It You Can Wash It Out Then

Just buy a normal dye from the shop ……. and get someone to help you put the dye on, so you get a straight line.
if your hair is really dark brown then you would have to bleech the tips and then die them red. Otherwise the red judt wouldnt take.

Alright, here’s what you do. Get yourself some semi-permanent dye. Permanent is pointless, especially if you don’t want it there forever. I recommend Manic Panic, or Punky Colour. I’ve used both brands, and they’re lovely. Punky Colour can be bought at Hot Topic, but Manic Panic you’re probably going to have to order online. This is if you really want your hair to be red! If you don’t really want it, just do some kool-aid. Now, dying the tips is much easier to do with longer hair. I’m sure you could probably do it with shorter hair but I’d have no idea how. it’s also best to have someone else do this part for you. Now, if you want the color to be straight across, separate the hair into four sections, two in front, two in back. Put a small elastic in each to keep them together. It might help if you place some bobby pins in the hair, straight across, about an inch or so from the very ends of the air, then, one section at a time, apply the color to the ends of the hair, up to the bobby pins, and comb it through. Make sure the dye doesn’t touch anything, as it will stain in a heartbeat. When you’ve got the dye thoroughly all over a section, either wrap it in tin-foil, or seran-wrap, loosely. This will keep the moisture and heat in with the dye, increasing the reaction, as well as not letting it stain nearby stuff. Leave it in for however long you want, and then wash it out carefully. it’s still best not to let the dye touch the hair you want to leave alone.
If you don’t necessarily want the line of color to be straight, you can pull all your hair back in a low-ish ponytail, and tip it that way. Whatever works for you. If you’ve got hair darker than a medium brown, I’d recommend lightening it first. But be very careful with the bleach, and follow the directions on whatever bleaching kit you happen to find. Bleaching kits can also be bought from both Manic Panic and Punky Colour. Good Luck!!!
