Whats a way to be able to straighten your hair everyday, but keep it from getting fried and damaged?
Hi. I straighten my hair every single day, except for those days when Im just planning on staying home all day. My natural hair is VERY curly, and I hate it. I dont want to just leave it curly because I have a scene sort of hair cut, so curly hair is a HUGE no.
Is there something I can do or something I can put in my hair to keep it from getting damaged as fast or as much?
Thanks! I appreciate it.

You should first start off with a good hair straightener. A ceramic hair straightener won’t damage your hair. Secondly, you should always use a heat protectant on your hair. I highly recommend the chi 44 iron guard and the reken heat protectant.

I too have very curly hair that I do not like to wear. I was using a straightener everyday, when I noticed my hair was being damaged a lot. My hair dresser told me to start blow drying it using a round brush. I also put Bio Silk (which works wonders) in my hair after it is towel dried. When you use the blow dryer, just style your hair straight with your round brush. It has volume, it is straight, and it looks healthier! (The Bio Silk is REALLY amazing!!!!)

I avoid using a blow dryer and let it dry naturally then I use CHI thermo protector before straightening it :)

If straightening your hair is something you like to wear pretty much everyday, you should look into getting a professional keratin treatment done. It essentially replaces lost keratin in your hair (hair is made of keratin), and acts as an environmental shield to heat, humidity, sun, etc. while keeping your hair frizz free. It usually lasts about 3-5 months if maintained well with the Keratin shampoos and conditioners. It also cuts down on blowdry time and you won’t have to use your straightener unless you want it REALLY straight. Keratin is not a chemical and it isn’t damaging to the hair. It does help repair split ends and is good if you’re wanting to grow your hair out.
read up on more info here. . this is the best kind. You’ll be looking at anywhere from $150-400 in the application procedure, depending where you’re from and how much hair you have.

Good luck!!

Garnier makes a serum as part of their “Sleek n Shine” collection that I put in while my hair is damp before drying it. I put about a nickel-sized amount in my palms and work it through my hair from root to tip, which keeps it from frizzing out throughout the day. There are a series of heat-protection serums and cremes that will keep your hair from becoming damaged, and there are damage-repairing shampoos and deep conditioners. But the biggest factor in keeping your hair healthy through straightening is to use high heat and keep the straightener moving from root to tip, without stopping it in the middle. Hope that helps!

I also have curly hair and hate it!I just bought a GHD straightener which makes my hair look glossy and healthy,I love it. I’d recommend you to use a heat protection spray everytime you straighten your hair!I got a great spray from Japan and use it all the time,my hair doesn’t look damaged at all. So just look for a good heat protection spray,I’m sure it will help :-)
