Upper lip piercing for me?
So the other day i was driving with my mom and she mentioned that she saw a few girls who looked similar to me and my features with on upper lip piercing, and thought it would look “cute” on me. Im all about being “cute” I’ve been my whole life as being categorized “cute.” Ill be 15 years old soon and i have long blonde hair streaky, that i adore! And i wear average clothing, Hollister, Ambercrombie, Garage, American Eagle, and so on. . . So I’m not the goth or emo type at all! I am pretty preppy and have a bubbly look to me, fair skin with freckles and subtle with big blue eyes! When i go on google to look up “upper lip piercing” it shows me these ugly metal ball studs on girls with tons of eyeliner and black hair. But if i ever got this piercing i would get a small diamond stud, low key and not trashy. But i do not know what my friends would think. . . What do you think? Do you think it would be a good idea to get it done? Or do most people find it trashy? But remember that with the right clothing and make-up it could possible look “cute” I just want some opinions please :) Thanks so much!

I personally think it would ruin your look, but I dont like lip piercings at all :)

Are you talking about a monroe? I have one. I loveeee it. I am one of the girls you would categorize as having lots of eyeliner and dark hair, but I do not look (nor do I go by) goth or emo. You should not get a piercing just because you think they’re cute, but because you want that Particular piercing. You have to take care of it. If it gets infected (or sometimes even if it does not) you could have a scar there for the rest of your life. (That’s cute, huh?) So if you do not plan on keeping it, I would not get it. I would not get it at 15 anyways because I’m sure you will have to take it out for school. It does not take long for new piercings to close up, and it’s not healthy to be taking it out and putting it back in before it’s healed Repeatedly. Oh, and the ball studs you’re talking about are typical. They are what your piercer will give you 99% of the time. You have to wait til it heals to change it.

Think about your career choice. Think about what you want to get into college. Think about how you want to be thought of socially. Many girls have lost out on wonderful opportunities because of multiple piercings, piercings that are distracting, and tattoos. If you have been categorized as “cute” for most of you’re life, you’ll have enough trouble being taken seriously without the “Monroe”
