How do I make my face less oily?

My face is really oily, mostly around my nose. When I run my finger down the side of my nose, all this icky oil comes off of it. Is there any face cleaner or something that will make my face less oily?

  1. You can’t stop your skin from producing oil, but you can keep the oil from building up by washing your face once a day (and only once. Anymore is bad for your skin). Also, make sure when you wash your face, you don’t scrub too hard. Scrubbing hard makes your skin produce even more oil.

  2. Stridex works. that what I use even though i don’t have acne, I use it because it makes the oiliness go away. They have it at Wallgreens
    good luck!

  3. God! My nose is really oily too, I get acne on it, it gets real disgusting. The only thing I can do is just put acne cream and just clean my nose every now and then with tissue paper. But I don’t think this is the best solution, so I would wait for more replies.

  4. just wash your face b4 u go to bed and whn u wake up and makeup doesnt help it any if u use that, any cleanser would help.

  5. If you’re out and about during the day and don’t have time to clean your face, take with you a packet of facial blotting tissues. They are little bits of paper designed to absorb the oil on your face when you rub it on the oily areas on your face. I have a pack that work really well for me, from The Body Shop.

  6. use PONDS natural tan face powder…I used it to lessen the oil in my face and it really works! :)

  7. yes, but it does eliminate oil all together.
like your oil will come back after like an hour or so,.

but i found this one to be the best.

its neutrogena oil free acne wash in pink grapefruit! it smells like grapefruit too =]

and during the day you can use neutrogena (or clean and clear) oil blotting wipes.
they are in a blue package.
you can find them at longs or any drugstore

    everyone uses them.

they are great, they even show the oil when you wipe it off, like the blue papers will turn clear.
    its cool
and leaves your face shine-free! plus it leaves your makeup on! (if you use powder or foundation)

    hope this helped

  8. First, don’t touch your face with your fingers, the oils on your hands will make them more oily. When you go to sleep, tie your hair up because all that oil in your hair gets on your skin, and change your bedsheets weekly. Wash your face often. Use blotters, It’s pieces of paper that absorb the oil from skin, I personally don’t use them but I heard it works well, if you can’t use blotters than use small sections of tissue paper (the kind that you wrap presents with.) It won’t remove all of the oil, but it’ll help. I hope it works for you! (:

  9. to start off it’s natural to be oily around those areas since there are bigger oil glands. you should understand how and why because it may not be avoidable.
    Avoid oily cosmetics
    Avoid harsh soaps
To help are antibacterial cleansing lotions, medicated soaps and fruit acid (lemons work best)
I recommend to use Neutrogena and Clean and Clear oil absorbing sheets.
