I thought about getting a tattoo but I don’t know what to get. How do you know what tattoo is right for you? Does it necessarily have to mean something or can it just be cool looking? It can’t be a big tattoo either because im in the military and they wont let you get one thats more than a quarter of the body part. Any ideas?
Im in the Air Force so our rules are different than the marines.

Okay, military will let you get large tattoos as long as its in the right places. my husband is in the marines and has a full sleeve. his sgt has a full back and chest piece as well as sleeves. yes, some people get tattoos because they look cool. but those are the ones you usually regret later in life. your in the military. if your proud of your branch then get a moto tat. or meat tags. if you don’t want the moto tats then do something that you know you will always love.
When the right tattoo comes along, it will smack you in the face. You’ll know it when you see it. Just keep looking everywhere for inspiration – art books, the internet, nature books, tattoo shops, tattoo magazines, did I mention the internet? Just keep your eyes open and look at everything as a possible tattoo. The right idea will come along, I promise.
It does not necessarily have to mean something, but if it means something you are less likely to regret it. You can get a cool looking tattoo just for the sake of getting a cool looking tattoo. That is fine.
I have seen people in the military with large tattoos. It must be some sort of new rule you are talking about.
Any ideas for a tattoo for you? You can always go with a tribal piece. They are pretty, and if you get a great artist it can come out looking fabulous.
This is where I found my design. http://www.create-your-tattoo.com/ You find the one you want, print it off and take it to your artist. They have thousands of designs.
Yes… Alan, that site is the bomb… I got my last two from there!
A tattoo doesn’t have to mean something to you you might just think it looks cool and you know what – that’s fine not every tattoo on you has to mean anything
That said if you really don’t know what you want to get tattooed. just wait until you do! There is no rush at all its going to be with you for the rest of your life sometimes what we think is cool at say 18 or 21 doesn’t seem so cool at 40!
