How long after getting a tattoo should you wait to tan?

I got my tattoo on Sunday (12/30). How long should I wait before I go to a tanning salon. I know when I do, I need to apply lots of sunscreen to my tattoo.

i would just put a towel over it or something like that
i put a wet paper towel over my lower back and went like 2 months later for prom and it was fine

A good few weeks. And tanning is never healthy – the only reason your skin changes colour is because it is being damaged by harmful rays. Once you have a stunning piece of art on your skin, you may not feel the need to tan anymore!=)

At least a few weeks, and when you do tan, PUT SUNSCREEN ON YOUR TATTOO!!!! Nothing makes a tattoo fade to hell like UV rays.

Either wait until it is completely healed (about a month) or put a wet paper towel on it. I did it and it was fine. Just don’t glob sunscreen on it for a while. In like a month put just the regular amount of sun screen on it. I have 16 tattoos and have had them for a few years now and i have not had one fade yet. I use just the regular amount of sun screen on them.
