How long can you keep your piercings in before they start to close?

mine vary i can leave my septum out all day without it even starting to close, but my cartilage piercings seem to start to close as soon as i take them out.

So how about you?
i know it depends on how long you’ve had the piercing, i was just curious about you and your piercings

  1. It depends on the piercing and how long you’ve had it
My nose even though its a year old. If I take it out for more then 4 hours starts to close.
Two of my lip piercings will start to close after 4 hours
and one till just shrink a lil but never close and its a year old.

  2. Well it depends on how long you’ve had the piercing for.
All the ones in my lobes will stay open for weeks to months at a time. Although now I always wear earrings anyway.
My older cartilidge piercings that are about a year and a half old can be out for a couple weeks before they start to close.
My tragus and forward helix are only a couple months old and I wouldn’t even try to take them out yet because they would close up so fast minutes probably.
When I was younger my I took my belly button piercing out and within a couple hours it was completly closed.
It just depends how long you’ve had it and how quick you heal.
    Peace :)
