How long does it take for a tattoo to fade if you get a cover up tattoo?

In time does the original tattoo fade to make the cover up look better.
Not fade but less noticeable.
I can still see it. When the new tattoo fades does it blend in with the original.

No, the original tattoo won’t fade really, but if the cover up is done well, you’re not going to be able to even notice it. The lines of the old tattoo are incorporated into the design of the cover up.

Oh, I get what you’re saying. And yes, after your skin heals up completely, the ink will settle in and the cover up will stop looking fresher than the old tattoo.

You see it more noticeably than others, because you know about it. And yes, it’ll not only blend in, the cover tat will be darker than the first for quite a while. Sure wish you had posted it. Another sitting may be needed.
