How long until my tattoo is safe from the sun and pool water?
I am a fair skinned white guy getting a fairly colorful koi tattoo on my left arm. What is the minimum amount of time that I should wait before I expose it to direct sunlight or go swimming?

At least a month I think. Anyway tattoos are never safe from the sun. The sun fades them a lot!!!!!
i would say about a week cause a week will give it time to heal and not have the sun dicolor the ink and make it fade away
Ask the tattooist, they’ll know better than any of these wankers. They’re profressionals.
right out of the tattoo parlor , just remember to rub petroleum jelly on it off ten to keep it from drying out . I have 4 of them !
What ever it says on
your after care sheet.
Two weeks is okay, but
I’d wait a full 6 weeks.
Protect your investment.
A light skinned person is
apt to burn, you don’t want
your skin to peel. Not good.
Ink Is Forever…….Ink On.
i have tattoo artist in my family and several tattoos myself. It needs to stay out of the sun for at least 6 weeks. Make sure to put tattoo goo on several times a day and when you can make sure nothing is touching or rubbing against it.
I live in S Texas….a bit darker than you especially in summer, but I was always told to wait until the redness and irritation are gone which is usually abut 4-5 days. No tanning booths either….it is possible to get a pretty serious burn on a freshly inked bit of flesh. You must wait for the new layer of skin to form. As far as the pool, remember, chlorine is also used to make BLEACHING agents! I’d wait until your tat has fully healed….3-4 weeks altho individual healing times do vary by a day or so. You should have been given aftercare info – since of course it was done professionally?? Anyways….thin bit of antibiotic ointment until scabs all form…then just a light moisturizer.
At least 2 weeks, it all depends on how your tattoo heals, if there are still scabs on it, I would wait until they are all gone and it’s fully healed. =]
Minimum 4 weeks. After that make sure you apply 30+ sunscreen on the tatt to stop fading.
Usually they suggest two weeks at least before you go swimming or sunbathe.
