  1. That happened with my earring! I took it out for a little bit to let it rest, it helped but then it sealed the hole: (To answer your question: It’s infected …. bellybutton piercing infection usually do get 70% of the time.

  2. Based on the color of the discharge, I’d say it’s probably infected. What are you cleaning it with? Are you doing your sea salt soaks? If not start! 1/4 tsp of sea salt per 8 noniodized fl oz of water, preferably distilled. Heat and soak your piercing in it. If that does not start clearing it up soon, go to your piercer and / or a doctor.

  3. since its nine months from when you pierced it it should be healed by now. why has it been this the entire time? go to the person who pierced it. if the jewelry you have in your body it is cheap jewelry has eaten through the metal plating and whatever is underneath it (nickel, tin, copper, or something else that is morrible for your body) is giving you an allergic reaction. if changing it to solid surgical steel does not help, switch to solid titanium or plastic. Without being able to see it or know more details this is the only possblity i can think of. see your piercer, they can help you and tell you what to do.

  4. It definitely sounds infected. Improper (or lack of) cleaning, tearing, or changing of jewelry could all be possible factors. Either way, the best thing to do is to put in a basic, surgical steel barbell (the original if you have it), clean it as if it were a new piercing, and go back to your piercer and see if they recommend seeing a doctor about some antibiotics.
