First things first, you need to know how to draw WELL. I would say that you could begin in your late teens. You practice by becoming an apprentice of an already settled artist. This may not be free because it’s more work for the artist (Showing you the ropes and such). Remember, you won’t be paid to do this. It can take about three years or so to become an artist of your own, I think.
